Kyle Rode
Kyle “Hot Rod” Rode
Age: 15
Home Town: Marshalls Creek, Pa
Parents: Tom & Allesson Rode
Siblings: Kaley Rode
School: 9th Grade at East Stroudsburg South High School and Monroe County Technical Institute (Auto Body)
Kyle started racing Quarter Midgets at Pocono Quarter Midget Raceway, and had the time of his life, but a few growth spurts later, and he couldn’t fit into his car without some serious modifications. So we decided to move up to the Slingshots by Tobias series. This is a bigger, faster, alcohol burning car that screams around dirt tracks all over the east coast. Kyle’s home track is the 1/8 mile Hamlin Speedway. He ran with an average of 16 cars in the Junior division and usually finished in the top 5. He celebrated his first feature win of the season at the Snydersville Raceway on September 21st, 2007 where he lead start to finish. He had a total of 4 heat wins and 2 feature wins for the 2007 Season.
Last February, Kyle decided he wanted to do something to help the kids at St. Jude’s. Kyle put the St. Jude logo on the roof of his car and went to work collecting donations and pledges. Most people gave a one-time donation, but a few decided to donate $1.00 for every lap Kyle led or a certain dollar amount for every win. So far he’s collected over $2300.00 for St. Jude’s and he’s not finished yet! He does a “helmet” collection at most events, with the occasional 50-50 thrown in for good measure.
Nascar Drivers like Carl Edwards, Kyle Petty, and many more that donate their time to worthy causes, are Kyle’s role models.
